Horse Racing – Meeting 22: Big Run Expected From Haylor

Must Read

A small field will compete in the feature race of Saturday. Haylor has everything in his favour with a good draw and a decent weight to strike a third time this season. He will have to beat some good horses with Black Cat Back and Wall Tag standing good chances.

Haylor already won twice this year. He was the best finisher over 1400m (B61) and 1500m (B71). He showed some good gate speed and he was very sharp in the last 200m. He tried his luck in The Golden Trophy (2200m), but he came seventh beaten by more than 5L by Alshibaa. The trip was too much for him. He will be back to a more suitable distance. Haylor is in great shape. He will start from gate number two and he will carry only 55 kg. Mauritian jockey Rai Joorawon will have a good opportunity to win a feature race. It is a chance that the jockey with the most winners in Mauritius will grasp with both hands.

Trained by Ramapatee Gujadhur, Black Cat Back will be the main danger. He is known as a strong front runner, but he did very well from the back on his last outing. Black Cat Back finished strongly after a difficult race to grab the third place behind Undercover Agent. Black Cat Back will be a big runner if he hits the front easily. But he will have to overcome his top-weight of 61 kg.

A better run is also expected from Wall Tag. He won at the beginning of the 2021 season, but he did not act afterwards. He finished fifth behind Haylor last time. He will be one to watch with the plum draw and leading jockey Dinesh Sooful on board.

Red Mars stands a chance. He is a very consistent sort. He won over 1600m on his last outing and he can turn the tables with the lightweight of 52 kg on his back.

Selection: Haylor, Black Cat Back, Wall Tag, Red Mars.
