Odds Watch: Punters were not very active from the opening of the odds on Thursday afternoon to the closing on Friday. No big betting drifts have been noted. But, three favourites, Emerald Band, Horse Guards and Lemon Drop Shot were backed.
The record holder over the 990m, Emerald Band, will be back on track at the Champ-de-mars racecourse Saturday in race 6. He is tipped to run a cracker and there have been some betting on him as his opening price was 175 (for a bet of Rs 100) to 170.
The feature race’s favourite, Horse Guards, was also well supported (from 260 to 230). His plum draw and the fact that the apprentice riding him will claim 4 kg are the factors motivating the punters.
Three other favourites had their prices going up, they are: Opague (from 250 to 230) in race 1, Lemon Drop Shot (from 320 to 280) in race 4, and Giratorio (from 330 to 300) in race 8.
