The meeting between the leaders of the Mauritius Turf Club and the MTC Sports and Leisure (MTCSL) with the GRA at the Prime Minister’s office on Monday, October 18, produced concrete results. The racing season of 2021 will carry on until the last race meeting scheduled for the 19th of December.
The leaders of the MTC and the MTCSL met with the administrative commissioners and the trainers on the 19th of October. And an interruption of the season has been ruled out.
The MTCSL has asked to review the health protocols so that more people can be granted access on race days, and also to find a solution to import horses for the 2022 season as many are already bought by Mauritian owners and are blocked in South Africa due to the African Horse Sickness.
