A woman in her sixties gave a deposition as a preventive measure to report that her 90-year-old husband had left her on vacation on Reunion Island and had not returned home. She said she could not be held responsible if anything happened to her husband.
The 66-year-old made a statement as a “pre measure” at the Grand Baie police station on the morning of Monday April 8. This resident of this coastal village declared that she had been married to this man of French nationality for eighteen years. On Tuesday March 26, they had left Mauritius on a tourist visa to attend a birthday party on Reunion Island. They were due to return on April 1. She says she returned alone, as her husband didn’t show up at Roland Garros airport in Saint Denis.
Back in Mauritius, she says she tried to call him on his cell phone, but to no avail. She said she couldn’t be held responsible if anything happened to her there.
