In Mauritius for a year, Dirk Worring, a 49-year-old German national, who worked as a marketing agent, did not survive his injuries sustained in a road accident at Bourdet Lane, Pointe aux Canonniers. He was seriously injured when the moped he was riding skidded off the road on Sunday, July 3. He died as a result of a pulmonary hemorrhage.
His friend, a 48-year-old German driver, reported the accident to the Pointe aux Canonniers police station. He said that his friend fell on the road after the moped he was driving skidded off the road at about 5:20 pm on Sunday, July 3. He was evacuated to the North Hospital in an ambulance of the Emergency Medical Service (SAMU). After being treated, he was admitted to the intensive care unit. It was at 6:30 a.m. on Friday, July 8, that he died.
Dr. Prem Chamane, Principal Police Medical Officer, who performed the autopsy, attributed his death to a pulmonary hemorrhage. At the end of the afternoon, the body was handed over to his sister for burial.
