The People’s Turf Club PLC will kick off the racing season. This, after having obtained the exclusive use of the Champ de Mars in alternation with the MTC Sports and Leisure Ltd. Starting tomorrow, the Horse Racing Division will begin taking entries for the first race.
MTCSL says it has signed the contract for an alternating management in the interest of its employees and partners.
The Mauritius Turf Club Sports and Leisure Limited issued a statement this afternoon. It explains that the Côte d’Or International Racecourse and Entertainment Complex Limited has given him a very short period of time to sign the sublease agreement without any reservation.
MTSCL added that it had applied for exclusive use of the Champ de Mars racetrack. But this one was not approved. As a result, the MTCSL will have to be satisfied with an alternating use of the weekends when the race days will be organized.
On legal advice, the MTCSL says it has agreed to sign the lease agreement so as not to jeopardize the possibility of organizing race days and in the interest of its employees and partners. The management of the Mauritius Turf Club will meet in the next few days to decide on the future of the club.
