Published in 2021 Du sable dans les chaussures is a thriller by Eddy Caramédon. At 69, this Mauritian who has lived in France for 43 years is currently working on two other books and a mini album.
A former journalist, Eddy Caramédon is also a singer who has made a career both in Mauritius and in France – his adopted country for 43 years.
A complete artist, Eddy juggles equally well with his pen as with his vocal cords and guitar. In 2019, he released an autobiographical work entitled Lettre à toi-même.
Published in 2021, Sand in My Shoes is the writer’s first novel: “It’s a thriller set against the backdrop of a revenge story that will plunge the protagonist into a nasty business. Unfortunately because of Covid-19, I was unable to promote the book.”
Eddy Caramédon is also working on two other books: “Corporal Lapeyre’s friend will be the title of my next book. The work tells of a patricide that took place in Mauritius in 2019. I relate the facts, but the book is also fictionalized. This novel will probably be published towards the end of the year. It goes without saying that I had the permission of the family to go ahead with the project. My fourth book will be another thriller.”
In addition, Eddy Caramédon is also working on a mini album: “Music is in me and it will stay there. In 2023, I intend to release a mini album to please myself and my fans,” points out the interpreter of the song Souvenirs des anciennes paysannes.
