The Anti Drug and Smugling Unit has seized heroin and synthetic drugs worth over Rs 1.5 million from a house in Rose-Hill. During the raid, a sum of Rs 158 , 000 was also discovered.
As a result of this police operation, two suspects were arrested. They are a 20-year-old man and the daughter of former drug dealer Steve Labonne.
Steve Labonne was arrested in 2000 with 10 doses of heroin. In 2005, the trafficker had been beaten to death by others by prisoners.
In 2018, Steve L’abonne’s son was also arrested in possession of 480 grams of synthetic drugs valued at Rs 2.5 million that he was about to prepare and 29 doses of heroin.
The daughter of Steve Labonne and her accomplice will be brought to court on Tuesday 15 March. They are facing a provisional charge of drug trafficking.
