A sales exhibition gathering some 54 registered women entrepreneurs of the National Women Entrepreneur Council (NWEC) kickstarted, this morning, at the Esplanade of Emmanuel Anquetil Building in Port Louis. This initiative of the NWEC will span up to 21 October 2022.
It is being held with the aim of promoting locally manufactured products in the context of the Divali Festival which will be celebrated on Monday 24 October 2022.
The main objectives of the sales exhibition are to enable women entrepreneurs to market and sell their products and provide a platform for potential buyers and sellers to meet. By so doing it will allow participants to generate additional orders, thus enhance the visibility of women-owned enterprises, and promote the services offered by the NWEC to empower women economically.
Products that are being sold include: Indian Sweets, Spices, Pickles, Crystallised Fruits, Potted Plants, Rodriguan specialities, decorative Divali lamps, dreamcatchers, crochet, organic soap, fancy jewellery, glass and fabric paintings, macramé, scented candles, pyrography, and eco bags, amongst others.
Moreover, textile products are being proposed to customers, such as: table cloth, table runners, kitchen sets, garments, and hand embroidered products.
