Christopher Lagane (FFSC-KFC) won the Mauritius individual time trial title on Sunday 29 August in Cote d’Or. Raphaëlle Lamusse (MRSC-ENL) was crowned in the women’s 17+ category.
Despite the heavy rain and gusts of wind that made it difficult for them to get into action, the twenty-five cyclists in all categories who took part in these championships gave it their all.
Local individual time trial specialist Christopher Lagane, beaten by Yannick Lincoln (MRSC-ENL) in 2020, got his money back by completing the 19.8 km circuit with a time of 24’20”. “I am happy with my performance in such difficult weather conditions. I am happy to have been crowned Mauritian champion again,” he said.
Yannick Lincoln took second place in 24’38”. As for Alexandre Mayer (BRSC-CSL Energy), after having kept his MTB and road race champion tunic in August, he took the bronze medal in 24’55”.
In the women’s category, for the first time in Mauritius, the title of Mauritian individual time trial champion was up for grabs. Raphaëlle Lamusse made history by covering the 14.3 km in a time of 24’40”.
Raphaëlle Lamusse thus achieves the triple of mountain bike-row race-individual time trial in the same season. Lucie Lagesse (BRSC-CSL Energy) and Celia Halbwachs (MRSC-ENL) took the second place in 25’04” and 27’06” respectively.
The next road race will take place next Sunday, September 5th, on the circuit of Valton.
