Today’s count is 51 asymptomatic cases and 2 serious cases admitted to ENT Hospital. The Ministry of Health reports that 0.32% of the population has been affected by Covid-19.
Two schools have been closed for the next two days for disinfection. These are the BPS in Beau Bassin where a case has been identified and the Royal Holloway College in Long Mountain where a student in Grade 8 has been tested positive. There are other suspected cases and a contact tracing exercise is underway.
The open vaccination campaign started on Monday but they are only a few showed some interest. Nevertheless, to date, 692,292 people have received a first dose and 561,682 have received both doses. The government has put everything in place to achieve full immunity through the vaccine. It remains for the unvaccinated population to find their trigger.
