Covid-19 continues to spread in the country. After shopping centers, educational institutions, dormitories of foreign workers, it is now the turn of public buildings to register cases of Covid-19.
Indeed, yesterday, a staff member of the Registry department (Commercial and Family) of the Supreme Court has been tested positive for Covid-19. As a result, this department is now closed until further notice. The Careers Guidance Service Unit of the Department of Labor will be closed until further notice due to the detection of a positive case of Covid-19 among the staff. After the detection of positive cases of Covid-19, several schools remain closed on Monday, July 26. These are the colleges: Loreto Convent in Quatre Bornes, Cosmopolitan College in Plaine des Papayes and Mauritius College in Curepipe. And the elementary schools are the Ste-Thérèse R.C.A school in Curepipe and the Notre Dame des Victoires R.C.A school in Rose-Hill.
These elementary school are closed for a period of three days. During the day of yesterday, the Ministry of Health had recorded more than 52 cases of Covid-19. Four patients were admitted to the ENT hospital. As of yesterday, about 640,000 people had already received their first dose of vaccine while 527,415 people had already received their second dose. It should be noted that the mandatory vaccination to have access to some institutions continues to provoke protests. Yesterday, some mothers had gathered, once again, in front of the Parliament to protest the « mandatory vaccination » of Covid-19.
