The Bail and Remand Court’s magistrate, Deepti Bismohun granted bail to Jordan Venpin. The 20 year old is charged provisionally with manufacturing dangerous drugs, notably, synthetic cannabinoids, and unlawfully holding materials for the purpose of using them in the manufacture of dangerous drug, i.e., synthetic drugs.
Venpin was arrested following the killing of Woman Police Constable Dimple Raghoo last year during a control delivery exercise by ADSU.
Two individuals hit fatally the policewoman whilst fleeing from ADSU. The two had some Rs 3 M drugs worth with them and incriminated Jordan Venpin as the one who manufactures the drugs.
Venpin has always rebutted those allegations and after a year in remand was granted bail. He has had to gurnish a surety of Rs 150,000 and a recognizance of Rs 1 M. Venpin was assisted by counsel, Gavin Glover.
