A provisional charge of “causing harm to child” was brought against a 30-year-old man on Wednesday June 21. The man, who works as a team leader for a well-known company, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon June 20, following a statement made at the Plaine-Verte police station by a 17-year-old schoolgirl. She denounced the acts committed by Reza Ramdewar on Saturday June 17, while he was at the wheel of his car.
In her complaint of Tuesday June 20, the student recounted the circumstances of the case. On Saturday June 17, she was walking along rue Magon, Plaine-Verte, when the car driven by the suspect slowed down at her height. Reza Ramdewar, she says, called out to her. She thought she was looking for information, so she approached his car. At the same time, the driver removed his seatbelt and made an inappropriate statement.
It was thanks to the number plate that the suspect was arrested. After his arrest on the afternoon of Wednesday June 21, he was identified by the victim. After appearing in court, he was released on bail. The suspect, who gave his statement in the presence of a lawyer, confessed to the charges against him.
