The Mauritian Richarno Colin won the silver medal in the category less 63.5 kg at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. He was beaten in the final by the Scottish Reese Lynch 4-1. It is better than the bronze medal won in New Delhi in India at the 2010 Games.
Despite all his determination and a third round in his favor, Richarno Colin could not reach the top step of the podium and thus emulate Richard Sunee, the only gold medalist for Mauritius at the Commonwealth Games.
The Scottish Reese Lynch, bronze medalist at the World Championships in Serbia last November, was favored by the judges in the first two rounds. At the end of the third round, Richarno Colin was able to land a right jab but not powerful enough to knock out his opponent despite the fact that Reese bled on that shot.
Richarno Colin wins the silver medal after winning the bronze medal in New Delhi in India in 2010.
Mauritius ends these Games with a total of five medals: two silver and three bronze.
