The Mauritian branch of the Japan Karate Association is about to organize the very first edition of the Traditional Martial Arts Festival. The event will take place on November 6 at the Côte D’Or Sports Complex and will see the participation of 22 dojos. JKA Mauritius will also host in 2023 Tatsuya Naka sensei – a prominent JKA personality with several films to his credit.
The country will experience the first edition of the Traditional Martial Arts Festival on November 6. Organized by the JKA Mauritius, the objective of this event is to show that martial arts are well present in Mauritius: “We were inspired by the Martial Arts Festival which is held every year in Bercy. Ours will bring together 22 dojos from different martial arts disciplines of the country. If this first edition, which is open to the public free of charge, is a success, we intend to bring in other foreign experts, notably Shaolin monks, for future festivals,” explains Didier Samfat – the president of JKA Mauritius.
In addition, JKA Mauritius will also welcome Tatsuya Naka sensei: “He is a leading JKA expert who is no longer presented in the world. JKA Mauritius will have the great honor to receive him in 2023 for seminars and training sessions.”
On the other hand, JKA Mauritius will hold the 3rd edition of the International Ambassador Cup. The date has not yet been finalized. However, the event will be held at the Côte D’Or Sports Complex.
