21 players of Club M are in training in Portugal. This two-week internship will serve to prepare the national team for the double confrontation counting for the preliminary round of the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 against Sao Tome and Principe at the end of March and which will be held in Ivory Coast. Sao Tome and Principe, the same team that had eliminated the Club M in 2019, during this same stage. It will be according to the n formula round trip that Mauritius will have to validate its ticket for this competition. In this sense, the first leg will be played on March 21 in West Africa and the return match is scheduled for March 29. The return of the Mauritian selection is scheduled for March 16, three days later, the national team will face the Seychelles in a friendly match.
The delegation is also composed of four technicians, namely Tony Francois, Colin Bell, Jerome Thomas and Ajay Reddy, and two managers, namely Riad Toofany and Ludovic Dorlin. For the coach Tony François, “the players who will be on the trip are not guaranteed to be retained, because everything will depend on their performance in Portugal. There, some expatriates such as defender Jordan Francois and midfielder Kevin Bru, among others, have been called in as reinforcements.
