Clay therapy is coming to Mauritius. Since January, Yashna Meetoo has been running wellness workshops with this medium.

Far from pottery, let alone an artistic demonstration, clay therapy is first and foremost a reconnection with oneself: “We live in an increasingly frenetic world. Clay therapy allows us to take a break for a session. The objective is to reconnect with our inner self to better discover ourselves and to probe our emotions,” explains Yashna.
When asked how effective this therapy is, Yashna answers: “Our hands have many more nerve endings than other parts of our body, which explains why they are more sensitive. So when we work with clay, we stimulate the energy points in our hands. As a result, it produces more serotonin – the happiness hormone – and reduces cortisol – the stress hormone.
Always taking place in nature, the sessions are also a great way to socialise: “By attending, you meet other participants and I know many participants who joined my workshops as strangers and have subsequently become friends.”
The next Yashna Meetoo workshop will most likely take place on August 8.
