The Reform Party leader faced the press yesterday afternoon. He commented the clash between the Police Commissioner and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). For him, it is a clear attack against the independence and authority of the DPP. He added that it all started with what Pravind Jugnauth said in Vacoas on Sunday 26 February. The head of government had said that the mafia had infiltrated the institutions. These words, according to Roshi Bhadain, explained everything which happened afterwards with the DPP as target.
He also talked about the new ID card. “This project will cost Rs 1.1 billion instead of Rs 230 million, as you are being led to believe,” he said. He even questioned the need for a new card when the one currently held by Mauritians is quite recent. “Which new information will be included in that card?” he asked. Roshi Bhadain said that the letter of acceptance has already been signed.
The leader of the Reform Party announced that his party has already developed a political program for a profound change in the country, in only two years. He invites citizens to learn about his proposals on 19 March in Beau-Bassin. Roshi Bhadain wants, above all, a participatory change.
“After listening to the people in many areas. we have 80 important measures to bring change in the country, 5 priorities. Among them, how to bring wealth and prosperity to all Mauritians,” says Roshi Bhadain.
