Amarnath Hosany’s pen is constantly enriching children’s literature. He has just launched two books during the Trou d’Eau Douce book festival.
Two literary walks. This is what Amarnath Hosany proposes to us through Indian Tales from Mauritius and The Day the Earth Disappeared.
Co-written with Kavinien Karupudayyan, Contes indiens de l’île Maurice gathers 6 tales that were once passed down from generation to generation before gradually sinking into oblivion: “Corinne Fleury of L’Atelier de Nomades asked Kavinien and me to work on this project. We gleaned tales here and there from the elders to propose 6 tales to Corinne. The six were selected and that’s how the book was born.”
The Day the Earth Disappeared is a rewritten version of the novel published in 2005: “I found the book too long. So I reworked it to make it more accessible to the public. Published by Vizavi, it is a pure coincidence that the two books are being launched together.”
The author is currently working on other projects.
