At around 7:30 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday February 13, a team of police officers from the Plaine Magnien police station, led by Sergeant Chellamootoo, arrived on Route Royale de Solitude. A white contract van and a grey Ford 4×4 collided. The contract van was driven by a 33-year-old contractor from Petit Bel Air. It was coming from the direction of Plaine Magnien towards Mahebourg. At the same time, the 4×4 emerging from a cane path in the direction of Plaine Magnien collided with it.
