The NGO Braille in Paradise held the Youth’s Ability and to the Social Inclusion Hero Awards 2022 on 12 April in the presence of the President of the Republic Prithvirajsing Roopun. Young people with disabilities have until 22 April 2022 to produce videos on the otherwise able with the help of the Mauritius Film Development Corporation – MFDC.
The celebrations of the 54th anniversary of Independence continue. Braille in Paradis rewarded 7 Mauritians for their social commitment. Among the beneficiaries are: 1. Dr. Noorjehan Joonas. 2.Mr. Bhojraj Ghoorbin. Mr. Billy Ng. 4.Mr. Vikram Dookna. 5.Mrs. Susan Auguste. 6.Mr. Ludovic Lamarque (Mister Love) and 7.Sewpoojuhn Lallbeeharry.
At the ceremony Vivek Urjoon – the president and co-founder of the NGO also launched three clips: “With the help of MFDC we have made three clips where three young people living with disabilities talk about their aspiration. These videos will soon be aired on MBC,” says Vivek.
The MFDC will soon start a campaign to raise awareness about the otherwise able-bodied. People living with a disability will be able to benefit from MFDC’s technical support for their audiovisual productions.
Braille in Paradise is an NGO that provides Braille books to enable blind children to learn better. The association also offers online training.
