A day of mourning was declared this Monday 18 July at all sites of Beemanique Stone Crusher Ltd in honor of the Bangladeshi worker, Jakir Hossain, 35 years old, who died on Saturday evening 16 July. He was buried in a muddy pond when the excavator he was operating sank in a muddy pond at the Beemanique Crusher in New France. It was not until the morning of Sunday 17 July that the man’s body was found. The autopsy performed attributed his death to asphyxiation due to the aspiration of the rock powder.

The victim, who worked for the company for years, was an exemplary employee.
