Aveelesh Seenarain. The name doesn’t ring a bell, does it? Yet you’ve probably danced to one of his songs. Better known as AVI S, the producer is certainly one of the most prolific beatmakers of his generation.
Hénry Rotile
At the age of 25, Avi S is a household name in Mauritius. Especially among young people. And with good reason, this resident of Calebasse has been signing several hits with well-known artists over the past few years: “I’ve been lucky enough to work with artists like Bigg Frankii, Madii Madii, Donovan BTS and Momo, among others. It’s always a pleasure to work with artists like that and, above all, to get the audience dancing.”
Avi S started playing music at a very young age. Gifted despite his young age, the teenager quickly climbed the ladder: “I started to get the hang of music software when I was 13. Then I got interested in beat making. After that, I also became a producer with a professional studio. Today, local and international artists are very interested in what I do and many of them contact me for collaborations.”
Perfectly at ease in any style of music, the artist is a reference in trendy music: “I made a name for myself with kizomba, afro beat and zouk. These are the kinds of music that young people are crazy about, and it’s precisely in these disciplines that I excel.”
