At a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Xavier-Luc Duval, in the presence of other members of the opposition, returned to the PNQ of the day. He said that at no time did the DPP say that the contents of the report that ended up in the public domain were false. He denounced the attitude of the Prime Minister. For him, the report of the Magistrate Vidya Mungroo-Jugurnath questions the competence and impartiality of the police. “This is a dangerous situation. The Magistrate says she does not want any further investigations to be conducted in this manner. Furthermore, we have been informed that some of the officers involved in the first investigation have been promoted,” he said. Xavier-Luc Duval recalled that Yogida Sawmynaden has not been questioned so far while 17 other people have been interviewed after the submission of the magistrate’s report.
The other leaders present at this press conference, Paul Berenger and Arvin Boolell spoke also comment on the death of Soopramanien Kistnen.
