One hundred children between the ages of 5 and 15 were brought to the auditorium at the Metropolitan Police Divisional Headquarters in Abercrombie, St. Croix for a half-day of Christmas party activities on Monday, December 19. The goal was to cheer up these less fortunate children of the area with magic tricks, a musical show animated by the musicians of the police band, games and a demonstration by the police sniffer dog. The day ended with lunch and refreshments.
This activity is part of the Police Strategic Plan 2022-2025 to provide quality service and also to strengthen community service. Its main objective is to identify children at risk and work with social workers as well as agencies for appropriate referral to prevent these children from falling prey to the evils of society.
This initiative of the police is to demonstrate their outreach to the public in the spirit of community sharing was attended by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mohunall Madhw, the Divisional Commander and the Assistant Superintendent of Police, Subash Domun, the Operation Officer of this division.
