The Child Development Unit (CDU) of the Ministry of Gender Equality has received an investigation into a 16-year-old girl who was trafficked by her father and brother after she was drugged. In her complaint, she explained that her father and brother forced her to take drugs before handing her over to strangers for sex. Both suspects are wanted by the police.
It was at the Abercrombie, St. Croix police station that a statement was made by this resident of Vallée des Prêtres through a police officer in the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 22. In this complaint, she relates that in 2022, her father and his brother made her consume drugs. They then made her have sex with strangers they had taken to the house.
These people took her to a place called Plateau in Cité Martial where they had sex with her without her consent. The teenager was later taken to the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis where the protocol for victims of sexual abuse was put in place. She was admitted to the ward and the CDU was seized with the case. Elements of the family protection brigade were also informed of this case.
