The Indira Gandhi Centre for Indian Culture will host an exhibition celebrating 75 years of Indian Independence until 1 September. 75 local artists are participating in Art Conclave 2022. The opening took place on 18 August at the centre’s premises in Phoenix in the presence of several dignitaries.
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence on August 15, the Indira Gandhi Centre for Indian Culture invited 75 artists to submit one of their creations under the theme My vision of India.
For his part, artist Rishi Seeruttun presents a diptych: “Jai Hanuman and Cataracts is a diptych about the struggle against oppression and indoctrination. I am very honoured to be part of this exhibition with my other colleagues,” explains the artist.
Among the artists we find the names of : Vaco Baissac, Ismet Ganty, Nalini Treebhoobun, Veemanda Curpen Neermala luckeenarain, Said Hosseny among others.
As a reminder, paintings and sculptures will be on display until 1 September. The exhibition is open to the public free of charge every day from 9 am to 5 pm.
