Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus has moved from Manchester City to Arsenal on a long-term deal. The operation cost Arsenal a hefty $54 Million in transfer fees.
The young forward is Arsenal Manager Mikel Arteta’s fourth summer signing. His transfer follows the arrivals of midfielder Fabio Vieira, goalkeeper Matt Turner and Brazilian striker Marquinhos. Arteta expressed his happiness at the capture and said he was “very excited”. Jesus will wear the number 9 jersey for the Gunners.
“The club has done a tremendous job to recruit a player of this stature,” he added.
Thanks Man City and all the people who made this club my life for all these years. Time to live a new dream!

Jesus leaves the Mancunians after five and a half years in which he played 296 matches and scored 96 goals. His time at Manchester City was trophy laden, as the team won four Premier League titles, three League Cups and the FA Cup.
“It’s been a pleasure to play for Manchester City,” Jesus said.
“I feel like I am a better player now than when I arrived – and to win 11 trophies has been amazing. My four Premier League titles are particularly special for me. I want to thank everyone at City – the manager, my teammates and the fans – for all the support they have given me over the past five-and-a-half years,” added Jesus.
Jesus was allowed to leave after Manchester City pulled off the signing of Norwegian forward Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund for $62 Million in June.
