This former teacher is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Droupadi Murmu is 65 years old. She will be the 3rd President of India to be the guest of honour of the Independence Day celebrations of Mauritius since 2006, after Ram Nath Kovind and Dr Abdul Kalam.
