Romanian authorities stated they have confiscated goods and money worth $3.95 million as part of a criminal investigation into an alleged human trafficking case in which social media influencer Andrew Tate was arrested.
In the previous week, the Romanian National Agency for the Management of Seized Assets held 29 movable assets for administration, including luxury vehicles and watches, and huge amounts of cash in different currencies, the agency stated late on Saturday.
Along with Andrew Tate, his brother and two Romanian female suspects were arrested on December 29 on accusations of forming a criminal gang in order to sexually abuse six women. However, the two accused have denied wrongdoing.
They challenged their 30-day arrest warrant but the Bucharest court of appeals rejected it this week and ordered for them to remain in police custody.
Andrew Tate, a former contestant on the UK reality show Big Brother, gathered negative popularity for misogynistic remarks and hate speech.
Due to his negative remarks he was banned from all social media platforms but after Elon Musk took over Twitter, his Twitter account became active in November.
Tate has made a misogynistic remark stating that women are partially responsible for being raped and that they belong to men. He holds dual citizenship of the US and Britain.
