The road made an umpteenth victim this Sunday, August 28. A young motorcyclist, Muhammas Idris Anas Tenny, 23 years old, former goal keeper of Aspl 2000, lost his life when the motorcycle he was driving, a Suzuki, went off the road and hit an electric pylon on the left side of the Royal road in Baie du Tombeau just at the junction leading to the road of Riche-Terre. The victim lived in Greenpark Morcellement, Terre-Rouge.
Following a request, a team from the Baie du Tombeau police station, led by Sergeant Seerruttun, went to the scene of the accident around 11:45 pm on Sunday night, August 28. The motorcyclist who was lying on his back was unconscious. He could hardly breathe. He was evacuated to the northern hospital in an ambulance. At 11:59 p.m., Dr. Cathapermal, who was on duty, unfortunately had to pronounce him dead. His body was then transferred to the morgue of the Dr. A.G. Jeetoo Hospital, Port-Louis for an autopsy.
