Alleged Bribery: A Former Member Of The SST And His Wife Were Questioned By The ICAC Yesterday

The police officer allegedly tried to extort a sum of Rs 300,000 from a woman entrepreneur. The former member of the SST, who is currently posted to Victoria Hospital police station, allegedly led his victim to believe that the Flying Squad of the anti-drug squad had issued a search warrant for her home. He added that he could have the warrant cancelled for a sum of Rs 300,000. The woman entrepreneur has lodged a complaint. The ICAC mounted an operation this afternoon and the two suspects were caught in flagrante delicto. They were taken to the premises of the anti-corruption commission for questioning The police officer and his wife were arrested by the Independent Commission against Corruption. They were caught in flagrante delicto. They are currently being questioned by investigators.
