Aggressed, A Little Schoolboy Couldn’t Go To School For A Week

Must Read

Suffering from pain all over his body, a little schoolboy attending Villiers René Government School, Port-Louis has been unable to attend school for a week. Accompanied by his father, the 8-year-old Grade 3 student went to the Trou Fanfaron police station in Port-Louis on the evening of Tuesday June 20 to lodge a complaint of assault. He had been assaulted by a pupil from the same school.

In his complaint, the pupil, who lives in Camp-Yoloff, explained that on Wednesday June 14, at around 8.20 a.m. before the start of the new school year, he was in his school playground. He invited his friend, who is in grade 5, to come and play with him. This friend agreed, when another pupil arrived who disagreed and started punching him all over his body. Although he was not injured, he felt pain on his forehead, between his eyes, on his back and on the left side of his ribs.

This child says he informed the schoolmaster of his attack. He stayed at school until the afternoon. He was in so much pain that he cried. His father picked him up and took him to the Dr A.G. Jeetoo hospital in Port-Louis for treatment. To this day, he says he still has pain in his body.
