A patrol of policemen from the Anti-Drug and Smuggling Unit (Adsu), Alpha 6 of the Metropolitan Police in the Roche-Bois area, early in the evening of Friday, October 29, more precisely at Blanche Street, led to the arrest of Jean Emmanuel Pascal Lo Hok Cheong, 25 years old for drug trafficking. This is after he was found in possession of two hundred and seventy-five doses of synthetic drugs and a sum of Rs 20,825 suspected to be from the sale of this drug.
It is on the basis of certain information surrounding a drug trafficking at Blanche Street, Roche-Bois that this Adsu team placed under the responsibility of Inspector Jean Claude Vally, assigned for a week at the head of Apha 6, landed at the place around 7 pm on Friday 29 October.
Emmanuel Lo Hok Cheong was arrested after a body search was conducted on him. The police were to discover in his possession two hundred and seventy-five doses of synthetic drugs and the sum of Rs 20,825. The police suspect that this money came from the sale of synthetic drugs. The police have initiated an investigation to find out the source of the drugs.
This Saturday 30 October, the suspect was brought before the Bail and Remand Court in Port-Louis. He is facing a provisional charge of drug trafficking. He will have to appear in court again on Wednesday 3 November.
