Winner of The Duchess Of York Cup in 2020, Ehsaan bagged his second win on his first outing this year. The Ramapatee Gujadhur’s trained horse stands a good chance to score a third time in Mauritius on Saturday at the Champ-de-mars racecourse.
New gears for Ehsaan. His trainer, Ramapatee Gujadhur will suit Ehsaan with blinkers and he will be tongue tied for the first time. The gelding had the new equipments on for his barrier trial on the 10th of August. Ehsaan was quick out of the gates and had a great gallop.
It will also be the first time over 1500m for Ehsaan. His won twice on 1400m in Mauritius, but he might be suited over longer distance as he also scored two times over 1450m in South Africa. He will follow closer to the pace this time, and he will be a hard nut to crack for his rivals.
Trippi’s Express did nothing wrong on his three races this season with two second places and he finished fifth not far from Barbe Cup’s winner Undercover Agent last time in a race with tougher opponents. He might get a dream run on the fence and he will be a big contender.
Iditarod Trail has made significant progress after his three races this year. He showed that he is near to his best form in training. Champion trainer Gilbert Rousset must have a silent hope on his horse who won twice easily over 1500m last year.
Fools Gold is the one who was the more impressive during the training sessions. He is near his peak and his last run over 1850m is to be ignored as the distance was a bit too much for him. He is a strong galloper, and he will be hard to catch if he hits the front easily.
Wall Tag is a decent outsider. He won once and finished third on his last outing. He will carry the top-weight and will break from a bad draw at the gates. He might be right there if his jockey manages to get a good position behind the leaders after the start.
