West Ham United beat AFC Bournemouth on a 2-0 scoreline, thanks to Kurt Zouma’s controversial header right on the stroke of halftime and a late penalty by Said Benrahma in the second half.
The Hammers not only dominated possession, but they also dominated The Cherries in all departments. But despite the domination of the Hammers, their victory is being seen as a controversial one as Kurt Zouma’s opener as there was a perceived handball in the build-up of the goal by Thilo Kehrer.
This victory has allowed West Ham to make the leap from the 17th position directly to the 10th position.
With this victory, The Hammers have now won their last four home Premier League matches against newly promoted clubs and lost just one of their last 13 such matches at home. On the other hand, The Cherries have failed to score in seven Premier League matches this season, the joint most of any side along with the Wolves.
