Seychelles President Wavel Ramkalawan will attend the 42nd Ordinary Summit of SADC Heads of State and Government to be held on 17-18 August 2022 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
According to a press release from the Presidency, the Head of State will leave the country on Tuesday, August 16 and return on Thursday, August 18, 2022.
The summit is organized under the theme: “Promoting industrialization through agro-processing, mineral development and regional value chains for inclusive and resilient economic growth”.
During the summit, an important decision will be taken on the final procedures for the transformation of the SADC Parliamentary Forum into the SADC Parliament.
While in Kinshasa, the President will meet with members of the Seychellois community in that region.
Members of the public with relatives in the DRC are invited to contact the President’s press office or the Diaspora Unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to receive details of the meeting.
