The road has claimed two new victims in the last 24 hours. Arvind Bhuruth, 33 years old, was killed at the wheel of his car this Friday morning, July 8th. This is after his vehicle left the road and crashed head-on into the wall of a store in Vale. On Thursday, July 8, 20-year-old O’Brian Adams Soobhee lost his life in Four Horns when his motorcycle collided with a car. To date, the number of deaths on our roads has reached 49.

It was around 5:45 am this Friday morning that Arvind Bhuruth was killed while driving his car. This resident of Grand-Baie, who was driving his car on the Royal Road in Vale, lost control of his vehicle. This one was to finish its race of full force against the wall of a store. The impact was so violent that the car was seriously damaged. It took the intervention of the Mauritius Fire and Rescue Service to extricate him from his vehicle. But shortly before, a doctor from an ambulance of the Emergency Medical Service unfortunately found Arvind Bhuruth dead. He was known in Grand Bay as a fisherman and for having worked in a snack bar selling dumplings. Arvind Bhuruth was married and had three children.
