A positive case of Covid-19 has been recorded in the community in Rodrigues, according to local authorities on Thursday morning. It seems that one of the policemen who came from Mauritius has transmitted the virus. And it is only after a few days that the case has been detected. The authorities are on the alert because several people could have been infected.
As those who come to Rodrigues for the elections are supposedly quarantined in Mauritius and Rodrigues, they do not wear masks.
The patient, tested positive in Creve Coeur, was taken care of by the health services. Thus, it has been decided that schools in Rodrigues will remain closed this Thursday, January 27. Some political activities have even been cancelled.
In addition, the Executive Council is meeting today in emergency. A Contact Tracing exercise should be started soon.
