Dev Sunassy, the spokesperson for the Platform for Free Expression, swore an affidavit in the Supreme Court on Wednesday, December 1, because his request for a peaceful protest was denied by the police. The protest rally was to be held this Friday against the amendments to the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA).
The case will be heard this Thursday, December 2, before a judge in chambers. In a press conference on Wednesday, December 1, Dev Sunassy once again denounced the amendments to the IBA Act and stressed that he will alert foreign bodies to the dangers that such a law could bring to democracy.
