If not for the new health restrictions, Melanie Pérès would have presented the musical Tigann traverse enn fam dan divan kontrer on November 19. Performances are now scheduled for 2022. In the meantime, the artist is working on the release of three albums and Bouke fler kann – her next novel.
Adapted from the eponymous novel published in 2016, the musical Tigann will be presented to the general public next year to the great displeasure of its author: “Together with Yann Payet we have adapted the novel into a musical that we were happy to make discover the general public from November 19 at the Caudan Art Center. But the new sanitary restrictions have changed the situation. We have postponed the performances to next year,” explains Melanie.
Moreover, if the story starts with an incest, Tigann highlights the Mauritian realities: “I was very inspired by the customs of our country to write the book. The musical will sublimate all that.
Note that the artist is currently completing three albums and his next novel entitled: Bouke fler kann. The story will revolve around a family who lives on a sugar estate …
As a reminder Tigann won the 2nd prize in a competition organized by the Creole Speaking Union in 2016. The book is on sale at Rs 450.
