9-month-old Rodriguan girl in ENT Hospital
She was transferred to Mauritius for surgery. The nine-month-old was admitted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Creve Coeur and was Covid negative on Monday, PCR negative on departure from Plaines Corail Airport, PCR negative on arrival at SSR Airport and again PCR negative on admission to Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam National Hospital on Tuesday afternoon. Nevertheless, on Wednesday morning, at the start of her treatment, she was found to be positive. The girl was transferred to an involuntary treatment centre, as she is a sensitive case that requires a series of observations. However, according to a video release from the Government Information Services published this Thursday evening at 8:58 pm, Dr Fazil Khodabocus, Regional Public Health Superintendent confirms that the tests performed on the girl at the Central Health Lab in Candos reveal that she is negative and so is her accompanying grandmother.
The Commissioner of Health announced that the situation in Rodrigues as under control. The family members of the girl have all undergone a PCR test with negative results. The girl’s two sisters are in self-isolation as a precautionary measure. The question that is being raised is ‘is Rodrigues still a ‘Covid Free Island’ ?
Civil servants down until August 23
The Registrar General Department is closed for disinfection and will reopen next Monday following a case taken from a staff member whose son is employed at the Ministry of Employment and is already in isolation.
The Corporate and Business Registration Department officially announced its closure this Thursday and Friday until 23 August.

15 Intermart employees admitted!

15 schools resume on Monday 23
A number of secondary and primary schools will resume on Monday 23 August. In addition, Lorette College in Port Louis, Rose Hill College and Curepipe College will be back in session. At André Bazerque Government School in Rose Hill, one Grade 3 and one Grade 5 student have tested positive and will resume classes on Monday. A similar case at Grand Baie Government School and La Tour Koenig Government School, one Grade 5 student tested positive, the class was closed for disinfection and the students sent home.
