A 7-year-old boy from the village of Black Rocks was admitted to the Burns’ Unit of the Victoria Hospital, Candos on Tuesday evening, May 3. He suffered burns when he fell on embers in his yard while riding his bicycle. He was hit on his right limb and his right foot.
It was around 7:00 p.m. on the evening of Tuesday, April 3 that a team of police officers responded to a family’s home in Roche-Noires on a request, which involved a 7-year-old child who had fallen on embers in his yard. The accident occurred while the boy was riding his bicycle. He fell on embers from a pile of garbage that his father was burning in the yard.
The boy was immediately taken to North Hospital before being transferred to Candos Hospital. After further treatment, he was admitted to the Burns’ Unit. There is no suspicion of foul play in this case.
An investigation has been initiated at the Rivière du Rempart police station to shed light on the exact circumstances of this accident.
