A 39-year-old man from Quatreborn reported a case of sexual abuse of his 4-year-old daughter at the Bel Air Rivière Sèche police station on Thursday afternoon, January 5.
This thirty-year-old explained in his statement that he is civilly married to a 24-year-old policewoman, and that a daughter was born from this union. Following marital disputes, they separated on 04 April 2022. His wife went to live with her mother in the area of Bel Air Rivière Sèche, leaving his daughter with him.
On October 18, 2022, his wife came to get the girl with an order from the Supreme Court. The latter was granted temporary custody of their daughter while the husband was granted visitation rights during school vacations and an alternating weekend.
On Sunday, January 01, while he was giving his daughter a bath, she started to complain of pain in her private area. On questioning her, the girl explained that her mother and an uncle gave her a bath, and the girl confided that this “uncle” hurt her private part. After a little investigation on his part, he discovered that his wife lives with a man, whose name and address he does not know.
The Quatrebornais also reported this case to the Child Development Unit of Flacq on Wednesday 04 January. The child was taken care of and admitted to the Dr. Bruno Cheong Hospital in Flacq, and a psychologist went to her bedside the same day. During the day of Thursday, January 05, she was examined by a forensic doctor.
