At the beginning of the session, the leader of the opposition requested the authorization of the Parliament to present an emergency motion for the suspension of the debates on the agenda in order to allow parliamentarians to intervene on the serious health crisis that affects the country.
The Prime Minister objected to this request. And according to the rules, as long as there is an objection, the request cannot be maintained. Therefore, Xavier-Luc Duval did not even have the opportunity to present the motion. The Opposition members then performed a walkout to express their disapproval.
Xavier-Luc Duval, and all the Opposition members, will hold an urgent press conference on Friday 26 November 2021 at 15.45 hrs.
