Yovanni Phillippe struck hard on Friday evening at the Charlety stadium in Paris. By covering the 400m (T20) in 47s38 in the second final, the young Mauritian set a new world championship record over this distance. This qualifies him for the final, scheduled for Saturday at 9.45pm (Mauritian time), and gives him a new African record in this event.
