The leader of the Rassemblement Morisien, who is also one of the directors of Linion Moris, commented on the Fisheries Bill at a press conference on Friday. Nando Bhoda pointed out that this industry is taking time to take off. In his view, Mauritius needs a strategic partner to provide investment, expertise, and training.
He believes that this partnership is essential. Hence his proposal that Mauritius should join forces with countries such as Japan, South Korea and India, which, he says, already has a dynamic blue economy.
Nando Bodha was also very critical of the European Union, which, in his view, is only interested in our resources and not in making the blue economy a dynamic industry for Mauritius.
