In a press release issued yesterday, the office of the Electoral Commissioner appealed to Mauritians to come and register. It should be noted that :
- The registration of voters in Mauritius, Agalega, and Rodrigues will take place from 17 September to 01 October 2022.
- Any voter who has changed his address, or any person who has turned 18 years of age up to 15 August 2022 will have to register in order to vote in the elections.
- In addition, any person eligible to be registered as a voter must check whether his or her name is on the “provisional voters list”.
- To find out if your name is on the “provisional voters’ list”, you can
- check the list at the registration centres which will be open between 4 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. on weekdays and between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
- call 800 2010 or visit the Electoral Commissioner’s office between 9am and 5.30pm on weekdays and between 9am and 1pm on Saturdays, or
- visit the office’s website http://electoral.govmu.org and use the search engine available on the homepage by inserting your national identity card number.
- check via the SMS service by sending elec<space>your national identity card number to 789 and a message will be sent to you.
