The Office of the Electoral Commissioner has issued a statement regarding voter registration. Here is the release:
- The registration of voters in Mauritius, Agalega, and Rodrigues will take place from 16 to 30 May 2023.
- Any voter who has changed his address, or any person who has turned 18 years of age or who will turn 18 years of age on or before August 15, 2023 will have to register in order to vote in the elections.
- To find out if your name is on the “provisional voters list”, you can
- Check the list at the registration centers which will be open between 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
- call 800 2010 or visit the Electoral Commissioner’s office between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays, or
- also visit the office’s website http://electoral.govmu.org and use the search engine available on the homepage by inserting your national identity card number
- also check through the SMS service by sending elec<space>your national identity card number to 789 and a message will be sent to you.
